It's been a great year for the Grady Bands!!! Enjoy the Band Video Slideshow!!!
The Grady Beginning Band will perform for the Briargrove Elementary 5th Graders and St. George Place Elementary 5th Graders on Friday, May 23 and Monday, May 26, respectively. This is a wonderful opportunity for our band students to show the 5th grade students why it's great to be a band student!
Band students need to wear their band t-shirt to school for the performances.
Tuesday, May 20th after school you can buy a Lemon Stick for just $2 and you'll be supporting the Grady Art & Music Departments!
Many of you know the Lemon Sticks good, but are you up for something new? Be one of the first in line and you can also try a delicious Orange Stick or Grapefruit Stick! Supplies are limited! When they're gone, they're gone!
See Mr. Hall or Mr. Gardner for more information. Give a Lemon Stick a try... we think you'll love their sweet and refreshing flavor!
On Saturday, May 17th, 85 Grady Gator Musicians traveled to San Antonio as part of the Beginning Band and Concert Band to compete at the American Classic Bluebonnet Music Festival in San Antonio. The bands performed in the Lila Cockrell Theater for a panel of adjudicators and a general audience. Their performances were very well received as both bands earned top honors at the festival!
The Beginning Band earned a Division 1 Superior Rating and the Concert Band also earned a Division 1 Superior Rating! The Concert Band also earned an Outstanding Performance Award for achieving a score greater than 93 out of 100 points!
After their performances, the Grady Band students celebrated a successful year of music making by braving the thrill rides at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. A lot of fun was enjoyed by all!
Special thanks to all of the chaperons and parent volunteers for helping to make the trip to San Antonio go so smoothly. And thank you to our business partners at Lenny's Sub Shop, Chacho's, and Sam's Limousine for feeding and transporting our group!
Congratulations to all of the Grady Gator Musicians on their superior performances and behavior on the trip!
