Calling all Tanglewood (Grady) Band graduates... You're invited to join us for the Homecoming Football Game tomorrow (9/27/16), 7pm, at Delmar Stadium. Come play with the band! Bring your instrument and music if you still have it! We hope to see you there!
We have a few field trips planned for the Advanced Band this fall. Please make a note of the dates, and return a signed Permission Form to Mr. Hall by Wednesday, 9/14/16. The students will stay with Mr. Hall after school until we depart for the Football Games. We will return to Tanglewood Middle School at approximately 9:30pm.

The Advanced Band will watch the Lamar HS Band perform at Lamar HS.

We're looking for donations of water and soda for the students. We will eat dinner at school before we depart. The students will need water at the football game in the stands. We're also looking for a donation or a business parter to help provide dinner for our students (pizza, sandwiches, etc.). Please contact Mr. Hall if you're able to assist with this process. UPDATE: Please sign-up online if you are available to chaperone any of these trips. We will also need a few volunteers with a truck, van, or large SUV to help move music stands and instruments to the football games. All volunteers need to register with HISD VIPS. Thank you!

Students, please bring a Pencil, 1" 3-Ring Binder, and a Composition Notebook for 1st day of school. Students that need to borrow a school instrument, please turn in a signed Instrument Loan Form & Fee to Mrs. Scott in the Main Office. Advanced Band students will need their instruments on Wednesday, August 24th. Don't forget to bring a combination lock for your band locker!
Instrument Fittings for Beginning Band students will be held after school this week. All Beginning Band students need to select a band instrument with Mr. Hall prior to the Instrument Rental Night on Monday, August, 29th.
Instrument Rental Night is Monday, August 29th from 5pm to 9pm in the Tanglewood Middle School Commons. Parents and students are invited to come anytime between 5pm and 9pm to purchase supplies and/or rent an instrument from Music and Arts.
Band Parent Meeting is Wednesday, August 31st immediately following Open House/Parent University at Tanglewood MS. All band parents and students are invited to attend. This is a great opportunity to meet Mr. Hall and the other parents and students involved with the Tanglewood Middle School Bands!

We're just a couple days away from the Grady Middle School Band Spring Trip! The bands are sounding great and we're excited to perform at the 2016 Bluebonnet Classic at Stevens High School in San Antonio, TX!

Mr. Hall is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. He has taught music for 17 years in the states of Illinois, Indiana, California, and Texas, and he has been the Director of Bands at Tanglewood Middle School since the fall of 2010.
